I've had some friends order the real deal online. Not too impressive although they said it was a different kind of drunk. They weren't hallucinating (SP?) or anything.

We got some of the real stuff from Czechoslovakia last year. I dont ever remember any tripping, but at 150 proof the drunk comes on quickly

You're supposed to pour it over sugar and let it dissolve, otherwise you can't stand the taste. Its like a mix of Jaeger and Everclear.

Thats not true.

The sugar is not there just to mask the taste. Ice cold water is poured over the sugar to create a milky solution to bring out natural flavors in a process called the louche.

The addition of water is important, causing the herbs to "blossom" and bringing out many of the flavors originally overpowered by the anise.

Please educate yourself a bit more.
