where would I find this birch plywood? I'd love to save a little bit of weight on my box. what kind of thickness am i going to need for a .6 cubic ft sealed box for a 10" type-x?
of your going to build out of plywood you want something that is void free baltic birch ply is a very good choice of material for boxes and is the most common void free ply. but its expencive and only comes in a 5x5 sheet .
Lowes here has 4 x 8 sheets of baltic birch. It's $60 a sheet though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
If you plan on covering it with carpet or anything, and weights not an issue. I would stick to MDF. Lot cheaper //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Don't bother bith the Birch plywood. It's more expensive and you don't save on enough wieght for it to be cost effective. Simple 3/4" MDF is the way to go.
