Woman tried to be smuggled into U.S. hiding in Sub Box

BROWNSVILLE, Texas - A Customs and Border Protection officer discovered a woman hidden inside the speaker box of her husband's SUV in an apparent immigrant smuggling attempt.
The CBP said Christopher Sean Protho, 36, of Fort Worth, was taken into custody along with his wife, a Mexican citizen, after she was found crouching inside the speaker box behind the back seat of the Honda Odyssey he was driving Sunday.

Protho was being held pending an initial court appearance on immigrant smuggling charges. His wife, from Matamoros, did not have immigration papers to enter the U.S. and was in federal custody awaiting deportation proceedings.

The speakers were wired and working when the SUV was stopped at the Brownsville and Matamoros International Bridge.

Lol, possibly.

It looked to be about a 4-5 cube "ported" (2'' piece of pvc) box, with a 8'' Audiobling sub, you know, the one with teh chrome flames.

Maybe People make good dampening.

chances are they suspected something and removed one of the subs. when we went through customs leaving canada and coming into detroit the guy was eye balling them for like ten minutes and then had my buddy turn em up to see if he heard anything odd. he kept saying he was going to get a screwdriver and take one out. he probably was just looking for my reaction cause immediately i said sure go ahead.

it was actually pretty funny. the customs guy was a little hood. he told me and i quote " tell your boy to bump that shit"....... it was a good end to a fun windsor trip lol
