I got a sub from a friend. It's a 10" Alpine SWS-1041D it's a dual coil and has 4 terminals on the back two positive and two negative. How would I go about wiring it. I have a 4ch amp and ch 3-4 are bridged for a sub.

the amp that i have is an alpine mrv-f345

Thanks.

Alright, connected each coil to a seperate channel and the sub works.

But could anyone advise me where to set the HP and the LP filters?

Ch 1 and 2 are CDT cl61a comps, Frequency Response: 60-20kHz.

and 3 and 4 is the amp. i'm assuming somewhere from 30-1,000 Hz

God dude, you took too long, made me look up the info myself, that's fuked... If I had a life, I'd care. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif Sub is dual 4, bridge the rear channels and wire the sub like this...

Before I wire it like you said, the amp manual says

speaker impedance:

4 or 2 ohms (stereo)

4 ohms (bridged)

is that ok??? because the pic you gave me shows 2 ohms

its acutally better to wire it to 8 ohms since that amp pushes 300 rms at 4 bridged and i believe that sub is only 200 rms
Doesn't have a choice anyways... below 4-ohms bridged the amp will drop into protection... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif He could have set the gains per the tutorial and he woulda been fine.
