Wiring 2 amps

you will need 2 amp kits that include 2 fuses,2 power and ground wires, 2 rca's,2 remote wires, thats about it i think...

I need to know if I'll need to change out wires anywhere since I'm running it off 1 battery, whether the same (4) gauge wire will work off the same battery, whether I should get a distribution block for the wires since I'll have to redo all the wiring in the truck panels, etc.

I would run another wire off the battery. A 4 gauge wire is only good for 800 watts RMS @ short distances (12 feet or less) or 600 watts RMS @ 20 feet.

Another option would be to pull your existing 4 guage cable and run 1/0 or 2 gauge wire and use a distribution block. It will probably cost you more in time and money to go this route!

Without knowing what specific amps you'll be running, I'll put it this way. What are the fuse ratings of both amps?

Also, how long is your power wire. (Since it's a truck, I'm assuming rather short)

Chances are your existing 4ga will be okay, you'll need to add a distro bluck at the amps if you don't already have one and probably a bigger fuse at the battery.

Or if you do need to upgrade wiring, you could skip the distro block and run each amp off their own 4ga from the battery.

It really all depends on how much current you're pulling.

The amp that's already in is a RF T600-4. I'm gonna add a RF 300-1 Mono. The first one has a 150 watt fuse at the battery end already. The power wire is around 10 feet to the first amp, it will be about the same (first amp is in the trunk, second will be under the rear passenger seat.).

My memphis belles that are capable of 1400 watts RMS only have 4 gauge inputs. I think 4 gauge is good for more than 6-800 watts
