Wireless router question

Can i hookup a router to the modem, and a 2nd router to the ethernet port on the first router?

Reason im asking is my stepdad cant connect to a router with a password and when we have no password on it me and my mom keep getting booted off every 15 seconds... i want to get a 2nd router so we can have one with a password and one without. Will this work?

Yes you can do that. Thats how my network is right now. But on my network we dont have any passwords.

Try updating the firmware of the router before you go out and buy a new one. I had to do that with my old Linksys router, which was a piece of shit.
