what makes the current background checks "garbage"

and GOOD!!!! We have a right to bare arms. Guns shouldn't be any harder to get

you do realize that the overwhelming majority of gun owners are law abiding and responsible people right? since when do the rights of MILLIONS get shit on because of a small percentage of bad actors?

when guns become self aware and start jumping up on their own killing people. . . then get with me and i will jump on board with some gun control

Because all 18 year olds make great decisions. There's a reason the legal drinking age is 21. I'm all for people owning guns. I'm also for good background checks and age limits to buy certain guns/rifles.

So you won't answer the questions, why? Because your argument won't stop someone from breaking the laws?

I am ok with the current legal age to buy a rifle.

You would rather an 18 year old commit a crime and steal a rifle than to legally purchase it and support the economy. Is that a democratic view or just an emotional one?

What we don't need are a bunch of over emotional and irrational people making laws that affect law abiding citizens with blanket and vague definitions when they can't and or won't define what an assault rifle/weapon is.

Since there is so much ignorance going around why don't we do this... Lets ban all rifles made by Colt since that is your focus, the brand Colt.

Or, we could allow Colt to sue everyone who is trying to KILL their business by blaming mass shootings on their style rifles.

How about we do this... We raise the legal age to buy a rifle to 21... when the U.S. Military raises the legal age to join the military to 21. How would that be?

School shootings have been happening for a while so they ARE a part of our lives. If we are wanting to make this less of a part of our lives then people need to use rational thinking and come up with actual solutions and not a bunch of emotionally fed verbal and mental diarrhea.

Offer training to teachers and staff who want to legally carry.
Have armed officers at schools.
Have better security at schools.
Have the grounds gated with an attendant at the main entrance.
Have monitored video surveillance of the schools.

There are many, many things that can be done. Why you people want to jump right to the one's that take away law abiding citizens rights is beyond me. Pay attention to your kids, raise them right... don't want to do that then stop making kids.

What you are saying is that we need to send our kids to a prison everyday. You also want to arm every teacher. Are you going to pay them more for being security personnel? I don't think raising the age of buying an AR-15 to 21 is taking away the gun rights away from anybody. The legal age to buy alcohol is 21. You gun rights people won't budge on anything. Should 18 year old students be able to carry in their High School's? Why not?

You people on the left can't keep saying stuff like the right never want's to talk about or hear about or do anything just because it's not what you people want to hear.

Send our kids to prison? Quit being dramatic Bobby. Making it hard for someone to harm our kids is not a bad thing.

Yes, if teachers want to help defend and protect our kids, train them, arm them and pay them more. I'd rather pay them more with my taxes than continue having this administration misusing our taxes.

21? We aren't talking about drinking. We are talking about guns. If the government says a person can fight and die for this country at 18 years old then you are damn right they should be able to defend themselves and their loved one's legally as an 18 year old adult. The only way it should be raised to 21 is if the age for joining the military also goes to 21. I think if a person of the age of 18 wants to buy a gun then they need to no longer be a student and should at minimum possess a high school diploma.

I think the only guns at school should be in possession of the trained staff in lock boxes or security officers. Students are there to learn and have no need to carry at school.

Bobby, explain why you keep focusing on the AR-15.
