I wish I could remember the exact situation, but it was a major event (like 9/11) and one station had a reporter break in to talk about J-Lo breaking up with or banging some guy.

"News" media has become an embarrassment. OTOH, since it's driven by demand, I guess it's just a reflection of ourselves or we'd have "real" news channels, we'd have news sources where left & right could peacefully coexist.
