Windshield Replacement

Going to call a few shops tomorrow, hopefully getting a quote for replacing the windshield on the van before I go back to school in a month or so. Assuming that I pay the entire thing out of pocket with the insurance picking up none of it, how much could I expect to pay in total for parts + labor? I'm just looking for ballpark figures, so I know when I'm getting taken for a ride or dealing with a shop that's competitively priced.

Assume a very large windshield, if that makes a difference; I'm probably going to end up paying a lot more than someone who drives a Civic //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Wierd.... Try calling insurance saying you have a crack, or throw a teeny rock at it to show as a rock chip. Pay deductable or get it replaced for free.

I know its wrong, but you'll save a isht load of money. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Depends if you have PLPD or not.

Yeah my dad got his windshield cracked and told insurance about it, they paid for most of it, I think he paid like 100 bucks.

The insurance would rather pay to replace your windshield now rather than pay thousands of dollars later to pay for your hospital bills as a result of ur windshield cracking or whatever.

I'm not doing this for the hell of it, I'm doing it because I already have two cracks and a rock chip already there. I don't need to throw anything at it...

I don't have comprehensive insurance, so I'm likely to get bit with the full cost //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Who knows, maybe I'll work something out.

d00d, yeah...

I kraked the windsheild, and frightened little grandmas down the street with my phat bazz.

up- your insurance to the next level. wait a month or two.
Even if I'm forced to pay the full amount for this, going to full C&C on a commercial vehicle that's 11 years old simply isn't worth it. They'd never give me enough for it if I ever got into a wreck to make the payments worth it...

My friend threw a golf ball out of my Scout, it hit a concrete tube and bounced into the windshield. Good thing I had free replacement for insurance...custom cut Scout windshields are steep $$$$ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

2 of my buddies recently had to have theirs replaced. I wanna say one was just under $150 and the other just over. They were both cars... don't know how much it would matter though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif.
