Thanks a ton for mentiona MSDN. I remember someone in my class showing it to me. So I went looking and found it hahaha!

So Im about to download windows 7 professional right now.

For me all it will let me do is download it. Can you download it multiple times? You say can burn it as an .iso?

I believe so. I just activated mine with the key I got. I already had it installed, but its legit now.

They only give you one Product Key (serial) for each version.

I've been running it since the beta releases and have enjoyed it much more than Vista. I just got the RTM (Windows 7 Enterprise) about a month ago and haven't run into any problems. I'm also on the 64-bit version and have had no problems with 32-bit apps. No problems with drivers either. Luckily, being a Microsoft student I am entitled to all their software for free. Next step is to wait for 250GB SSD drives to come down in price. My friends 128GB SSD installed 7 in about 20 minutes.

Okay. Im having issues with my windows 7 installation and need some help.

Im running XP currently and I ran the setup.exe from the desktop and it goes through all the shit till the first restart where it hangs on the Welome to Windows screen or whatever it says. It eventually BSOD'd after I let it sit their for 10 minutes.

Can anyone help me make an .ISO so I can try installing it that way instead? I have nero 6. Am I supposed to make the image from the winzip file windows 7 comes in? Because I tried doing that and it didnt boot. (Yes I changed boot priority in the bios).

I've just put on the machine I built this week cus I get It FREE from the Microsoft Academic Alliance so I was either that or Vista from and I'm already got one computer running ubuntu from linux so it was kind of a no brainer. I am really liking it. Vista is such a mess and XP is what 7 years old its about time they get something somewhat right. I have heard a few issues about it from classmates but nothing major and I haven't encountered any

I know how to make ISO disks. The issue I am having is with the windows 7 zip file that I downloaded from MSDN. I can uppack the zip and it comes with a setup.exe file. Tried it and the installation fails.

So I was going to try and burn it to a disk and boot from that. It wont read the disk. Does anyone know if its possible with whats givin to me? I burned the zip as an image but no luck.

YGPM. the 64 bit pwns.

just got mine today. absolutely love it. 64 bit version is super fast, and uses about 1/3 of the cpu vista did to run everything.
