Os: windows 7 home premium 64 bit

Model: hp probook 4530s.

Alright guys I'm having some issues reinstalling installing windows 7 after formatting my hard drive. I've got it on a USB drive. I know the is file I used is good, the flash drive was formatted before making the Bootable flashdrive. I Googled answers for about 5 hours earlier and nothing worked. I did come across one solution that sounded like it would work. They said I needed the raid drivers for my mother board. My question is where do I find this driver? The only drivers I can find are eexcutable files, not the driver files. Anyone got any ideas?

Apologies for the wall of text. Just wanted to make sure I got in all the details.

Let the file extract then find the temporary location to get the inf files for raid.

Either that or switch in the bios from raid to regular ide emulation until you can install raid if possible. Not all bios have this option.

Does the installation fail or does not recognize the USB as a bootable device?
It doesn't recognize the usb. I've tried unplugging it and re plugging it after windows had started up, tried switching up the boot order in bios.

It never actually starts installing.

I had some trouble getting mine working with USB, too. It ended up being because I wasn't burning it right. What are you using to format and burn the iso?

Using the cmd command to format the drives. I've used the Microsoft tool, and rufus.

If its in ISO format use Rufus to put it on a USB drive. Also I know some HP's have the option in BIOS to enable/disable USB ports. Verify that they arent disabled anywhere.
Yeah I used rufus for the last attempt I made. The usb ports aren't disabled. I thought that was the problem at first.

Raid driver's wouldn't effect USB ports. I am speaking from experience when I say this, HP is ******* terrible when it comes to USB installs.

I would recommend ImgBurn for burning ISO's. Never had an issue with it. I also recommend using DVD's for Windows installs.

Do you have access to the download on another computer? If so then put it on a DVD. If you have access to another computer but not the download then go to the Pirate Bay or something similar and download a copy of Windows and burn it to a DVD and use your CD key. Only problem with this is that you won't have any drivers so you'd have to connect via ethernet and manually download all the laptop drivers.

Another thing to try is enabling Legacy Drivers (mainly USB) inside of the bios. Sometimes not having this enabled will screw with USB recognition when the bios is booting.

Yup. Its alot easier to switch ports than dig through BIOS though for some people.
Tis true. HP's bios is usually pretty straight forward. Its the UEFI bios you have to watch out for. But yea, switching ports will sometimes work.
I've tried switching usb ports after windows had booted. Unsure whether my usb ports are 2.0 or 3.0 though.
