hey im gona tint the windows on my wakeboard boat, think it will look pretty sweet.

i saw these GILA window tinting kits at murrays today and there like 20 bucks and i figure it shouldint be to hard to do , anyone have anytips or anything i should know?

I would find a brand with better reputation not saying that was is bad but someone had a thread like this before and I never saw that brand. DIY tinting is all about the brand. I know 3m makes good tint

has anyone ever done a tint job them selves?

how hard is it to make it look good?

and is there any special tools i need besides a squeege and spray bottle and razor?

i was looking at some window tinting film on ebay and the professional stuff is like 150 for 50'' by 100 feet, i would hate to spend all that money and then mess up the job.

bro... just find somebody good that'll do it for 150 or so...

tinting is some SERIOUS sh**

it takes experience, and experience...

or maybe just a sh** ton of time will substitute for experience...

formulaone is good stuff. thats what is on all the windows on my truck. what kind of boat do you have. i have a cal air that is mostly black, was going to tint the windows on it but i doesnt look like we will have it that much longer.

The only way to get the experience is to do it yourself, make sure you cut it to the right size and CLEAN the fvcking sh|t out of the windows before you apply the tint, I would say go ahead and give er a shot //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Word. This is what we use at the shop and it's the pimp ****.. Buy some good film (ie. NOT GILA), take your time and do it yourself, you'll appreciate it more.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

x2 on cleaning the **** out of the windows.. Razor blade them, then steel wool them, then clean them with cleaner.. Any dirt will be trapped under the film forever and it looks like ass.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

threadjacking in progress...

I've got factory tint right now that is non removable, and I think its 35%

My question is, whats the most I can add to it, and still be able to see at night? at least enough to tell where cars behind me are.

do they sell kits that come with everything i need to tint, what i bought was a sheet of film and a squeege and razor and some special solution for the windows, do i need anything else?
