Window Breaking

Does anyone know at what pressure inside the car a window or a back window will break... want alot of SPL but donnt want to shatter my windows... any info would help...

Too hard to estimate.

Depends on proximity of speaker, age, curvature, and thickness of glass, any air leaks in the vehicle, how much flex is allowed in the vehicle, even angle of the glass in relation to the speaker if it's close can make a difference.

Pressure is not always evenly distributed. If you're not estimating being well over 150dB (pretty tough to get to), I wouldn't even worry about it.

I can't recall a windshield shattering with less than that, but it may have happened.

it takes a lot.........I wouldn't even worry about it. It'd be a little different if the window was already cracked but even then, it still takes a lot.

not an important factor when trying to determine what sub(s) you should buy.
