I am about to wire my JL w6 v2 up. I was told at my local audio store that 16 gauge will be alright to use. I thought it was to small. It is only going to be like 6 feet long connected to a jbl 600.1 amp. What do yall think?
If its form bat to amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif , but it might be alright from amp to sub, but 12 awg is better and would only cost a little bit more.
well I just hooked up everything and I am getting very little sound out of my sub, something is wrong. do you think i have to small of wire? or is there some other problem you think?
The 16 gauge wire should do fine untill you get a chance of getting something thicker. it sounds like an install issue causing your trouble, check all the easy stupid stuff first like polarity, amp gain and head unit settings and make sure the box is right (no leaks, right size ect) and report back.
Well, I checked all the connections and they are fine. I put a volt meter up to the speaker terminals and its reading nothing. but, when I hook up my sub, it will move but it won't get very loud. I don't know what the hell the problem is. I am thinking I might have bought a broken amp. agh.....
I am ca.com's official idiot. My volt meter was in DC not AC. My system is thumping now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
