so i almsot have everything but my ho alt. ill have that in a few weeks. could i run temporarily 2aq2200d's on 4 15rese's on stock 135a alt with two big batts in the back? maybe turn the gain down alot? ill only be giving them maybe 3000 in the end, but maybe if i only gave em like 2-2.5k would it work so i have some bump while i wait

no i mean 3k at the end like when i get my ho alt. like 2k for now. so itd be stock 135a alt and two of ryanm's huge batts in the back, running i guess around 2 to 2.5k. i have a volt meter so i could turn it down if it ever started dipping

well the subs will be wired to 2ohm, so one aq2200d would only put out like ~1100 im guessing, so thats like 250w per sub. thats way to low isnt it? why not go with lke 500 to 600 a sub with two of em? if this is a really dumb idea i wont do it

personaly i wouldnt use the amps until i got the new alt. could be a costly mistake. you should be ok running one amp like mentioned. you hook them both up and your going to be pushing your luck.

I know alot of people running 3500+ Watts on stock alternator. Shit Im about to run 4000+ on my stock alt. If the voltage dips really bad ease up on it. Those hugh *** batteries Should help quite a bit.. I had a RF T 20001BD on stock tahoe Alt and it only dipped in the low 13's.

you got lucky. could of easily been a costly fail.

why would you not want to get full potential of your amps?

just because you got lucky with it dont make it a good idea and definately shouldnt give someone the idea that it is.

you can use 10ga wire for those amps too fyi:rolleyes:

also if your using a 4kw amp and have to ease up are you really running 4k watts?

spending that much on audio and running that much power and not upgrading your electrical is retarted.

its like buying a new quad core computer and hooking it up to dial up.

to little power won't hurt anything.. if it did you would hurt all your speakers when you turn the volume down..
yep lol.

i think this will be the first statement i put in my sig.

edit. well it will only let you have 700 characters so i guess it wont go in my sig because im not deleting whats there but im sure someone will pick it up. lol.

He said in the meantime. He was eventually gonna get a HO Alternator. He can get away with 2000-2500 watts on a 135 Amp alt and 2 huge *** batteries in the meantime. I dont see him needing to ease up on the system but if the voltage gets to low than ease up.

Let's do some math here kids. No dammit, I said MATH, not meth. Put down the pipe. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

So let's assume your alt can make all 135A at all times (but it really can't). Let's also assume that doing that will not harm the alt (it will). Let's also assume that your stock electronics are not drawing any amperage themselves (they are).

135A x 14.4V = 1944W x 80% (amp efficiency) = about 1500W

Now that is about the max that alt can make as far as power out of the amp. If you try to push any more than that, or if you use any of that 135A of current for anything else (lights, ECU, HU, fans, spark plugs, etc), then you cannot make that much power.

Also, if you are driving in stop and go traffic, or are sitting at idle, then your alt is making much less than the 135A it is rated to make.

Another thing to consider is that those big *** batteries are going to help you for the first hour or so, then they will need recharged themselves, adding to the other draws in the car, reducing the amount of current the amp can use.

Cliffs: No you should not try it. You will be back in short time crying about blown amps.
