you could always put a high output alt on and do the big 3. then if any warranty work is needed, take them back off. The wires in the big 3 wouldnt take but a couple of minutes to remove or replace.

 
there was a law passed a while ago for this, if i could find the link on ROE, which i cant because its down.

Unless you specifically agreed to not modify anything then it will not void your warranty. They would have to specifically prove its your alternator that caused the problem in the car.

so up your electrical.

 
There was a class action lawsuit that led to a federal law concerning warranties. The long and the short, unless they can prove that your specific upgrade was the cause of the problem (and they can't with a good big 3 upgrade or beefed up alt because it won't be the cause) they are required under Federal Law to honor the warranty.

with that being said, do the big 3 now.

even tell your pops. if you have to, i'm sure you could find it online and show it to your dad even.
