ive got a chance to buy a Rockford power subwoofer t1 at a good price. Its already in a nice ported box. My amp is the kenwood excelon 650d.Its a five channel amp. the mono channel is rated at 200 watts. or 300 watts at 2 ohm.The sub is a 4 ohm dual voice coil. how can I get it to 2 ohm?

google up parallel wiring for 4 ohm subwoofer. Hope you arent paying more than 200 for the sub+box because you'll definitely need a proper amp to push the sub. 300 will make it move but bass will sound anemic.

Go to 12volt wiring diagram and it will show u how to wire it to 2ohm

Yes i understand that.my sub is already mounted and there is only one set of terminals on box.I guess I need to pull the sub out?

yes, if you do not know how it is wired take sub out wire it for a 2 ohm load..

pretty sure they guy will already have it wired up to parallel, but make sure just in case. Small chance things wired up horribly wrong though.

yeah that will let him know the ohm load but what if the wire on the inside is like some really small gauge wire ... hell id just want to check conditiin of everything anyway but apparently thats just me

I agree, I mean it couldn't hurt. I was just offering a quick way to check ohm load for a quick test.

Checked it. I'm getting 3.8 ohms. ill pull sub tonight and solder new wires in.what gauge?12,14? Anything else while I'm in there?
