Will this amp cut it?

Get this for the Subs: MB Quart FX1.600 (fx1600) 600W RMS, 1-Channel Monoblock Formula

And this for the speakers: MB Quart FX4.100 (fx4100) 800W RMS, 4-Channel Formula Amplifier

and use the money that's left over to upgrade to the Type R 6.5's.

Or, you can buy Type R 10's for the same price here : ALPINE SWR-1023D IN CAR AUDIO STEREO 10" TYPE-R 1800W 2-OHM SUBWOOFER SUB WOOFER | eBay

and go with this amp instead.

MB Quart ONX1.1000D - ONYX Class D Monoblock Car Amplifier/Amp

Look around at stuff before you buy, you'll end up with much better equipment.

Okay, could I get by powering those two shallow apline type s 900watt 2ohm subs with a smaller amp? Like say a 500watt? And what about the speakers? would a kicker DX125.2 2 channel work good? There are only 2 6.5'' alpines. Oh and I know you recomended that I upgrade to a type r alpine sub, but they won't fit in my truck (it is a reg. cab '91 f150).

Ignore the Max rating, RMS is the real one.
Can you explain the RMS rating?

Is the subwoofer tested individually or as a pair? Is the sub/s in an enclosure or are they free-air? What kind of enclosure or baffle? How are the voice coils wired? What frequencies are used during the test? How long does the test take to get a realistic RMS number? Do all manufacturers and build houses use the same test procedure? If not, how do they differ and how can one compare the ratings from Brand A to Brand X?

(RMS ratings are next to worthless)
