will PG RSD work with this amp

hey guys i just got a good deal on a rockford fosgate p200.2 punch series amp! and i wanna buy a set of 6.5 comps will this amp work well with the pheonix gold RSd 65cs! jus wondering cuz the speakers says the impedance is 4 ohms but can they be wired down to 2 hom cuz the amp only puts 50x2 at 4 ohm at 100x2 at 2 ohms? any suggestions appreciated.

No, they can't be wired to 2 ohms. That amp should do roughly 2x80w rms @ 4 ohms.

it will work, just be careful playing them loudly. just be sure not to make the amp clip.

they will sound fine. 4 ohms is what 99% of car audio speakers are and there is nothing you can do about it.

the only bad part is having an amp that weak. i would suggest an amp with a minimum of 100watts x2 at 4ohms. just so you can play them decently loud and not worry about pushing the amp to much. i choose an amp that does just over 200x2 at 4 ohms and set the gain knob to deliver a max of 150 watts rms per side. i just like to be safe and have a good amount of headroom so i don't risk blowing anything. i suggest you do the same, especially if you are new to this kind of stuff.

X2.... and there is no reason to want to. the lower your impedance the more strain you put on the amp and your whole electrical system. almost any component set you find will be 4ohms and there is nothing at all wrong with that. a lower impedance sometimes will lower the SQ as well, cause the damping factor will decrease on the amp and so will the efficiency as well.

ya well i just bought this amp cuz i got it on clearance at my work for like 89 bucks so it was fairly cheap! o well im kinda dissapointed lol! will it at least sound better then if they were off the deck lol

do not power them off of just the deck. don't even bother. use the amp you have if you must. but i'd suggest selling it and going with something much bigger. just be careful using an amp that small, you will most likely try pushing it to hard and send a clipped signal to the speakers which will end their life early.

Or you could spend another $89 and have two of them, and bridge them, so each amp should be putting out around 200w each.
