bought it to power my 1 jl audi 12w7. will it power my 4 components cause i know it has enough power. I dont get how amps work at all i is only a 1 channel after all. Would i need another amp to power my 2 pioner 6 by 9's and kicker 57.2's in the sides. Please help a noob out thanks guys:p:

you need a four channel for the 6x9 and 57.2's....oyu need one channel per speaker except for subs which dont reqwuire a channel per driver because they are not stereo...

Ok what amp do u suggest that is cheap powerful and reasonable to power my components. thanks:D

why not go with the jl 300/4? You've got the 1000/1 and the 12w7, but their sister...
I think thats to much power for my walmart pioneers and the small kickers. Plus im already worried about my alternator not being able to handle the w7 and 1000/1:blush: but i do like that 300/4 amp.

It's going in a 97 ford v6 mustang. Lights already dimmed with my 2 performance teckinique and 1200 watt performance teknique amp

dont even do that! lol 1000/1's are class D!
What's your point flakko? I ran a class D on my comps and it was freakin' great!! Have you noticed how more and more manufacturers are putting out D's exactly for the purpose of running all speakers in a system? Alpine has a whole line now and Eclipse has been buliding them for years.

Now you could run all your comps off that 1000/1, but it would not be economical at all //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

The amplifier being Class D is not the reason it's not a good idea //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Class D, as a topology, are more than capable of being used for full range applications.

It is a horrible idea to run your main speakers in mono. Sound is in stereo (hence the reason we call our audio systems "stereos"), and running your entire setup in mono would sound aweful. That is the first reason not to do it.

2nd is as was mentioned by alphakenny.....I do not believe the 1000/1 is a full range monoblock, meaning it wasn't designed to produce the full frequency spectrum.

true but in some cases such as bridging a 4 channel amp to run lets say midbass would be okay even though both midbasses are being run in mono.

It is acceptable to run each individual side feeding a mono signal to it so long as you continue to have both left and right channels represented. You can run a mono left signal to the left midbass (to use your example) and a mono right signal to the right midbass and you'll still have 'stereo' source reproduction overall //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
