Will my crossovers hold up??

Just started putting a stereo back in the buick , some time this week i will have a new motor in it too. But the question is coming so lets get the needed info out of the way first.

Pioneer P3900MP , Sony XM-C2000 (30x6 channels) , Jbl GTO507C , Fosgate FRC-1269 , 14 Gauge to all speakers , 6 Ga powering the amp , no subs or sub amp installed yet.

My question is this , when i had my alpine 9855 still , i was running these JBL components activly with 100+ watts per speaker @ 80-4000HZ and 4000-UP 24/DB Slpoe , they sounded great and seemed they were hungry for even more juice. Well now that they are active off of only 30 watts per speaker they just seem wimpy. I don't have a active capable deck anymore so my big 4 channel amps are a no go unless i run them 80hz high pass and use the passive crossovers. My question is if i shoot 100+ RMS per side through these crossovers will they hold up? I know the speakers are up to the task but the crossovers look lame as hell. Just one dinky coil and a capacitor the size of a top to a bic writing pen.

I want way more volume and headroom up front and i know its possible with a active crossover or active deck but is it gonna be ok using these ghey passives? BTW they are only rated for 55WRMS. LOL

i have ran 150 rms thru MBq x-overs that were only rated for 60 rms I think you will be fine..

the biggest function is for them to bleed off the unwanted frequencies by sloughing some of the power so you may get bleed thru but they should live thru it..

worst thing that can happen is bad bleed thru and it won't sound too good and you have to go a dif route.

worth a try either way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

gl man hope it goes well.

If I don't like it i will just hook the 6 channel back up and wait for more power once i can afford another active deck or a nice active crossover. Probably go for a deck because i hate pioneer decks. I needed money asap and sold my alpine to CRX.

for active only a few of the PRS decks were good for non active i will only use Pioneer

other than that it has to be an Eclipse for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've owned numerous lower end pioneers in the 90's and had problems with the cd players , and a few of the post 2000 high end models and always ended up having to ground the RCA's because of noise or having to run my amps remote wires direct to a keyed fuse because the remote circuit failed in the deck. I have one low end model on my bench right now that has all 3 problems. LOL. remote is dead , rca's give off major noise unless you ground them and it doesnt like burned discs. LOL. I love eclipses though 8 VOLTS BABY!!!!

So i hooked the bishes up passive , now i get mediocre but loud sound and my tweeters get stinky at high volume , and before anyone tells me to turn the gain down , it is on minimum , with tone controls on deck flat , and loudness off. any volume over 50 of 62 (pioneer p3900mp) gets the tweeters stinky. I'm going back active again , getting my old POS optimus crossover back from my buddy and gonna try them out that way.
