will i notice a difference?

would i really notice that much of a difference if i fed my 2 12" sd2.5s 1500-1800 watts opposed to 1400 or would it not really even make that much of a difference?
10*log(1500/1400) = .299db

10*log(1800/1400) = 1.09db

Those are theoretical, but maximum difference that would be attained by increasing power.

So the difference between 1400w and 1500w is completely inaudible.

The difference between 1800w & 1400w might be barely noticeable at best. Once you factor in power compression and such chances are very good that you again would not hear a difference.

how much of a difference do you think changing my amp from the 2-channel A/B amp i have now(giving my 2 4ohm 12" kickercvr's 380rms bridged @ 4ohms) to a class D mono rated at 1000rms @1ohm

i'm really contemplating getting a mono like i should have done in the 1st place--my current amp gives the breathtaking effect after i turn the HU ALL THE WAY UP with bass at +1 and 50hz at +2...

I just want to know if i will be able to tell a $200+ difference in sound if i give my subs their rated 800rms instead of just 380rms??

wow, im glad someone else knows that dB's are based on logarithms

+1 for j00!

Just do some more math, the equation has been handed to you already

10*log(800/380) = 3.233 dB

That is definitely an audible difference. Not a huge one, but you will be able to tell. Plus you won't be pushing your amp as hard so you will get cleaner power. Your subs may handle a little more too since it won't be distorted at all. Worth it in my opinion.
