will give my DD a new cf dc, what glue?

robin....you told me the same thing but the ca glue seems to be workin just fine on mine....hasnt cracked or anything....but then again i kep the old dustcap on and added the cf one on top....so i glued the underside of the new dustcap to the top of the old one....and then went around the outside of the new one with a bead of it... take a look at the pics...cant say i did a bad job.

ok , why did ya take off the other dustcap? not sure if it goes for the 10s too but its put in either way to stiffen the cone more....
i was forced to do it, cause otherwise the new one didnt fit cause the old one was to big upwards, and i dont want to put so much extra weight on the cone, the old one dont need to be there at all, cause when you buy a new sub from DD there is no papercap under..

no on the CA glue PLEASE
get you some rubber glue as it never fully cures and stays black forever.

put some weight on it for a few hours and let it rip
that was my thought too.. have you done this yourself anytime? if so can you find some glue at any website so i can find any similar here..

does someone know exactly how DD do it? i think they use ca glue, and after that they use some black rubberglue on top to make it look nice?

when i reconed my dps if you spray the activator right away the whiting does not occur, but if you don't spray the activator imediately the whiting happens. you can put as much activator as you want and it does not cause the whiting. i have reconed death penaltys numerous times and the only time i have the problem is when i don't spray the activator imediately. therefore my conclusion was the fumes from the ca itself was causeing the problem. (the fumes are strong & toxic)

if u look at my pics....on the 1st page it will show you what it looks like when you use CA glue and use NO activator at all....the CF will get dusty thats all...wipe with a paper towel when glue dries and voila ***-C new sub.

In my experience, using too much activator (ie spraying the glue directly, from very close) is what causes whitening.

Misting from 1-2 feet back caused no whitening of the glue (in my experience with my 9515s).

IIRC, the Riprock twins also mentioned that using too much activator can also make the CA glue brittle, weakening the joint. Maybe guys who have been more into the competitive scene can add to this.

i dont need activator, i just want good result, and can wait 1week for the glue to dry if needed, just give me good tip how to glue it with good result, how does DD make so nice glueseam?

1 word machines...but yea just go around the outside edge of the cf dustcap a couple of times. place a roll of tape (i used auto body masking tape) and place something of good weight on the roll) this will help distribute the weight and keep the dustcap down and glued in the right position....
