Will four 8's get louder than two tens?

Ok so let's say we have two 10's ported at 35 hz on 800 rms. Then we have 4 8's of the same brand on same power ported at 35 hz. Will the 8's get louder? Or am i wasting my time? I just wanted to try some.

haha **** Im literally about to be doing the same thing. I have two tens running on 800rms and Im about to switch to 4 9kv.2's on 800rms. however, I'll probably give them 2.7 cuft sealed instead of ported, I'm not sure yet.

Well i've got two tens, and they are really nice sq and very deep. They are powerbass es 8's.

I just got 2 of those on ebay "deepdiscount" (not delivered yet) I assume that is where you are finding them also. I currently have 2 powerbass m-10's and am very impressed for what i paid and only 600 watts, and am also contemplating getting a total of 4 of these 8's. From what i've heard from those that have used the evolution series they are pretty decent so im excited.

I might port them Im not sure yet. Im going to seal them to break em in and see how they perform then think about it. 2.7 cubes in the biggest box I can have for the size im going with so we'll see.

NO! They will not.(drop low) You can however make them sound great.

I believe we can assume this guy wants to know if 4 eights will " drop as low " as 2 tens in a given box size, with a given amount of power, etc. I think that you more educated people (like you) could do a little better with 4 eights than the average guy. Eights will get low,I know mine will! But if he wants to just swap them out he will more than likely be disappointed. (low end)

Depends on what kind of 8's you buy. If you buy 8's that are not made to get low, then .... duh. But if you buy 8's with good LFE, then he won't be.

ASSuming is not a good idea.

They have the ability to play pretty low. I highly doubt that you'll be listening in the 20hz range anyways.
