will a new amp w/ 15 w rms make a diff?

Have Rainbow SLC265s running off Alpine V12, 4x50w rms @ 14.4. The Rainbows are rated for up to 80 w rms.

Considering a US Acoustics USX4065, which is 4x65 w rms @ 12.9. I am guessing that it will give me around 15-25 w rms difference going to the speakers.

Do ppl think that (1) the wattage will make a real diff on SQ? (2) will i be giving up SQ from going from the Alpine to the USX?

not trying to hijack the thread, but how do you figure everything i just read if sensitivity isnt measured as 1w/1m? what if it is 2.83v instead?

edit: im reading thru there but im still not quite understanding what the 2.83v means....

IIRC (not entirely sure)

Sensitivity is measured at 1 watt / 1 meter, regardless of impedance

Efficiency is rated at 2.83 volts / 1 meter

2.83v = 1 watt @ 8 ohm, 2 watts @ 4, 4 watts @ 2ohm, and 8 watts at 1 ohm. So a 1 ohm speaker will be getter 8 times the power as an 8 ohm, which will in turn give it +8 db of "efficiency" compared to the +0db of it's "sensitivity".

Could be wrong, just stating what I could have swore I read, althought it does explain why I see subs claiming 96db efficiency ratings.
