Will 2 CVRs handle 1500w RMS?

Those cvr's won't handle 1500w, but then again that amp won't be putting out full power anyways (if you're not familiar with box rise, basically it causes your amp to put out less power than it's "supposed" to...it's not a bad thing it's just something you get on AC circuits).

In the mean time just turn down the amp a bit so you don't smoke your subs.

they will be fine if you just follow the instructions in the manual for setting your gain and go conservative with it. It is good to have more power, just make sure you understand how to use it...on those subs a 1200 watt amp would be more suitable but you should be fine if you do not abuse the subs.

ps..when setting the gain, make sure you have the loudness off, the bass level on the HU to flat and i would not even hook up the remote bass boost. Just set the bass boost pot on the amp to flat as well. Make sure the gain is all the way counterclockwise before turning up the HU when setting the gain.

No they will not handle 750 a piece. Set your gain for 800-900 watts to be safe. 2 type rs do really good on that amp. Or if your willing to spend more money you could go with sa12s

I'm buying an Audiopipe APSM-1500 amp and going to wire it to 1 ohm. Will 2 07CVR124s (rated 400w RMS/800w Peak) be able to handle that, or will I need to think about upgrading the subs?
one other idea would be to reconsider the amp choice since you are having to go at this backwards because you already have subs...just a thought.

I have a cvr 15 . Well had lol. But I had it on 750 w and about 20 sec into any song it gets real smelly. This is also in a 5 cuft box lol. But I ended up puttin it on 1200w the other day and it went up in smoke pretty **** fast. I had 2 of them on about 1100 watts in 10 cuft and it did fine, just had to be careful.

Here's my current options. Obviously if you can suggest something better, I'll consider it. $300 is pretty much the most I want to spend on subs. I'd like to keep my choice in the amp because it seems to be very good for the price.

1. Have 3 CVR 12s on the amp at 1.3 ohms (3 CVRs = $240)

2. Buy 2 Type R 12s (About $300 shipped)

3. Buy 2 Obsidian 12s (About $300 shipped)

The Alpines and Obsidians are the same price and rated for the same RMS. I've heard good things about both, so I'm not sure which to go with.

PS: I just read a review on this amp from someone running 2 CVRs who said he fried them within a week of installation

id got with the type r's or the OA 12's. Id probly go with the OA's because ive never had a pair but have heard & read nothing but good things.
