i couldn't agree more. as i said many times in the past, "acting black" or acting any race is absolutely PURELY relying on stereotypes.
if someone where black or indian and they were "acting white" how would they do it and what would be the name for them?

It goes back to the whole nature of so-called "exoticism". We see all of the world through our own eyes, and thus, things that are not immediately familiar to our own little slice of culture are seen as exotic, mainly fueled by media portrayals of these unfamiliar areas of culture which of course are 99% stereotypes.

People have been doing it since the beginning of history. See: European perception of "the orient", etc....

I issue that bothers me the most is not being true to yourself , trying to emulate

so why are some whites acting black ,you think its cool maybe - I think its lame.....

So how would a black person 'act white'?

Say a black woman who dresses modestly, doesn't have a haircopter 'do, big-*** fake nails with glitter and rhinestones, etc... speaks clearly with proper (yet not 'stuffy') grammar, doesn't smack gum all the time, use excessive profanity... would that be considered to be acting white? I'm just reaching here for ghetto hoodrat persona stereotypes.

Too many kids in my area are like this.

What's even worse is that they think they can fight cause they dress like a "gangster". So, they walk around with a chip on their shoulder waiting for someone to say something to them so they can "posse up". Ridiculous. If I wouldn't go to jail for choke-slamming these bastards I'd be happy.
