If she truly needs a benzo she should talk to a doctor... I'm on Xanax for anxiety disorder and couldn't function without it. Valium and Klonipin work for some people, and are MUCH less addictive, MUCH less. 1 mg Valium = 100 mg Klonopin = 1000 mg Xanax if I remember right. It's fucked up that people who self medicate are considered criminals.

If she doesn't need it, and has been taking it for any period of time, prepare for hell, benzo withdrawl is about the only withdrawl that can literally kill you. No withdrawl even compares. That is why Xanax is the least prescribed benzo, it works fast, and is gone fast, which makes it incredibly addictive. If you abruptly stop, seizures will follow, and quite possibly death. No **** to play with. To properly taper off can take 6 months to a year. Get her into a GOOD rehab if she is addicted so she lives.

I understand standing beside your *****, go get her out of jail, and work it from there.

Don't be a douchebag. I take more Xanax than most people could survive on daily... via Dr. prescription. And you know what that allows me to do? It allows me to function as a normal human being. Were I not on medication my life would be a continuous hell of panic attacks and I would be unable to leave my house.

Most people who "abuse" drugs of these types have an issue similar to mine, and that issue has never been diagnosed or properly treated.

As far as kids go... I have three... and I'm willing to bet any of them are better people than you are.

Dude when you get her out get her to a Dr. Ask around to find a Dr. that will prescribe benzos before you pick one. Most won't... at least not Xanax... but for some it's the only thing that works... unfortunately if she NEEDS them her quality of life will be **** and she is a ******* waiting to happen without them. Take it from somebody who has been there, and lives there everyday. If she is taking them for "fun" and has taken them consistently for more than a week or so you need to get her in a rehab of some kind to wean her off... otherwise she WILL have seizures, and could possibly die. You might get a lot of other responses, but trust me, I know... I've been on Xanax, prescribed by my doctor, for around 20 years. It's a life quality issue. I'm a productive, tax paying, "normal" member of society... without... I'd have blown my brains out long ago.

It sounds like the OP is recreationally using them because he's sad. As you can tell, he cannot function very well on it.
