Wierd Bass EQ Control description in amplifiers owners manual

Not that I use this Amp for powering subwoofers anymore.

D. BASS EQ

'BASS EQ CONTROL', the SUB SONIC filter frequency can can be adjusted from 30 Hz to a maximum of 175 Hz. In this setting, there is an available EQ control of 0 to +24db.

The above is the exact wording in the manual including the "can can" and caps...

Does this mean that the Sub Sonic filter is not the low frequency cutoff but instead the frequency to which Bass boost is a maximum

 
PowerAcoustik LT980/2. A class A/B amp that I have had since around 2004. Actually I still have 4 of them that I use to power everything but the subs. I use to use them for nothing but the subwoofers back then.
