I bought a pair of 2 x 5" wide dispersion horn tweeters off
ebay NIB. I went to install them parallel to my polk audio 6.5s in my rear deck(off the rear channels of the amp) and when I turned it up the amp goes into protect. The amp is a MB Quart DSC450 50x4 @ 4 ohm, and 100x4 @ 2ohm....I re-wired the tweets in series with the polks and now i have no problems with them. They will play all the way up without the amp going into protect.
My question is this: The tweeters don't have a 4 or 8 ohm rating on the box they came in. Heck, they don't even register on my DMM. The box says this 'typical impedance appears as .1UF capacitor'. WTF is this?
