any one one seems like the splinter is a bit better , but is rated for less is it just more efficent , any one use one or both of these subs any input would be great, want to put them in a ported box mostly listen to rap

X2...you are always going to get different answers to that question so I say flip a coin as well. I don't know much about the SSA Icon but I've heard great things about the Rl-P. I say SSA Icon is tails and Rl-P is heads.

I don't think there are going to be near enough people here that have any degree of experience with the Icon to make an educated guess here...

I have no doubt that it is a more than capable driver or denim wouldn't have put his stamp of approval on it - he seems to be a pretty clued-in guy about most things audio related.

The SoundSplinter RL-p, however, is a more than established driver that has a very dedicated following from those who have owned/heard/experienced it.

Customer service on both is going to be far above-average should there be any issues after-the-sale so to be quite frank you'd be hard put to go wrong either way.
