Don't be dissin on 4000's. They are a bang for the buck sub, I'm sorry i'm not rich enough so my parents buy me my stereo. For $100 i got two subs that hit mid 130's, so they are not as bad as you think. Sorry to hear about your gramps.

i heard them in one setup 2 12's with a mtx amp (not sure wich) and it was crappy sounding. i guess i cant jump to conclusions but it was one of the worst setups i ever heard

no it was my bad. truthfully i dont know it wouldnt be a blow out either way depends on box (hadnt really hear a good 4000 setup so i dont know)

It all really depends on: what kind of box it's in, what you are looking for, and what kind of room you have. I'd have to lean to the 4000's seeing as it's 3 against 1, but the kicker handles more power and could probably get as loud if it was in a ported box.
