Why so douche, PayPal?

So I've been selling/buying things on this forum and eBay occasionally for the past year or so, and I've always contacted people here or on eBay when I shipped everything. I never thought that it PayPal really cared if I marked anything as shipped on there -- especially because whenever I try to get a tracking number from USPS, they have no idea what the hell I'm talking about.

I've sold four things in September, much more than usual, and now PayPal has decided to "hold any further payment temporarily in a pending balance." I checked their policy on that, and they said that one of the possible reasons is a sudden increase in selling activity, or low "performance", meaning that I haven't marked my items as shipped.

Well, I read more into their policy, and they said they re-evaluate the accounts every thirty five days, so it looks like I'm not going to have access to my money for over a month. What do?

happened to me too, with a paypal of mine and then all of a sudden, they held everything until i sent my SSN, utility bill and some other bull to prove who i was. No claims filed. Thats why when money hits my paypal, i get rid of it as quickly as possible. they still have $17 of mine in another acct.

Paypal and Feebay are notorious for shennanigans like that. I've been a member of both since '99 and things have got progressively worse. 14,000 feedback and 99.9% positive and they limited my account last month. I called up and got some guy in Bangladesh on the phone.... I was about foaming at the mouth by the time I told him I was going to kill a cow and he made me do it and hung up on him. Oddly enough they raised my limits a bit after that, but I still went down to the local Brazilian BBQ and ate about 10 pounds of beef the next day.

No problem hitting me for a grand a month, but when I need some help I have to talk to someone who can't speak English.

If you do enough volume it isn't too bad when they hold something up, but even then I try not to keep a lot in it. They KNOW they have a complete monopoly and treat their customers accordingly. If either of them had any competition they'd be out of business within a year.

I stopped using either company entirely. If I cannot sell it on CL or the forums utilizing MO as payment then I will just keep it. **** those thieves.

Why you no read user agreement, MisterDeadeye ?

During the hold period you can get money released to you sooner by paying shipment through Paypal. Money should be release to you about three days later.

You can also get payments released when a buyer leaves + feedback.

Paypal does this to keep sellers on their toes to make sure they are listing items as described and shipping items quickly.
