Why is it always the black professional athletes end up in the news?

It's really sad, and I'm not racist by ANY means. But... Why the hell do these guys end up in the news in trouble, and losing their job, or getting suspended.

When is the last time you heard of a white guy in the news for beating his wife? Or possessing a gun, or any other "gang-banging" activities.

Really sad, they though millions of dollars away...

Probably because 90% of athletes are black. White actors/musicians are in the news relatively frequently for doing dumb stuff. Mainly centered around drugs.

It's how they want it to look. KG donated a house a month for 2 years to the Katrina victims yet there was really no coverage about that. As well as others. When K-West said the George Bush line, he also dropped a million dollars to the cause. But what do you remember most about that scene? T.O does a lot for the community. And he never has any run ins with the law or anything off the field. Yet when he had the pills incident a Texas high ranking cop pretty much dogged him.

There are so many stories of black athletes doing good shit with their time and money. But those dont sell papers. Dogfighting and guys who have never been convicted of crimes but get suspended a year do.

It's like every time I see Marv Albert doing basketball, I think of how unfair shit is.

Exactly but he was still doing games. He was off a year on the major networks only doing Nets games. But then again Charles evens that out.

90% is a bit of an exaggeration. I dont even think basketball is 90%. Add hockey in the mix and this reduces dramtically.

There have been plenty of white athletes in the news......even recently with Matt Jones the WR for Jacksonville, who has had many run ins with the law, mostly from drugs IIRC, but he has also done some really stoopid things the last few years.

Umm Ryan Tucker from the Browns has had his fair share....Roger Clemens is always in the news.

I could go on, but I am tired.
