why doesnt my reciever work!!!

It powers on and everthing, everything works fine, it just won't power speakers anymore. I don't know why, but its making me mad lol...its a really really old sanyo reciever. I really liked it, I'm getting by with this ugly POS awia one now...but is there a reason it won't power the speakers when everthing else turns on with the reciever? And yes, I've tried different speakers.

have you tried the "tape monitor" button like in this thread:

I won't lie that **** tape button has got me a few times, but I'm pretty sure that's not what's wrong here, I'm at school, ill check when I go home but I'm pretty sure the tape button is off...

Could it be fuses maybe?

it was the fuses, i remebered hooking my mt to it (lol!) and the lowest impedance it can handle is 8 ohm lol...so ya i hooked the mt to it @ 1 ohm...

anyways it works now

NO kidding..... Uhh it's rated at 8 ohms so we are going to put one on it..... Great way to damage the finals....
