Why does Top Gear US

Copy everything from the real top gear but do it much worse? And why do I keep watching this crap
It is entertaining but they are all *********. Also the bbc top gear is bias as hell toward british cars and the U.S. version is bias to american cars. Who would have thunk it.

Because the US copies EVERY popular thing and dumbs it down. I remember when there were several legit "repo" shows and now look at them, same with nature, survival, auction, and pawn shows. There's always a legit, normal one that starts it off and then along comes 5 more after it that are MOAR EXTREME DUDE.

That is not exactly accurate. Not to mention our cars are not all that great when considering what other companies are doing.

US Top Gear Downs for me

- Stig is pointless

- Stars in cars are nobodies for the most part, and the interviews are terrible.

- no history of anything

- no continuity whatsoever

- no traveling to other places

- the fact that even american cars they dont give you any history or real pride of them. Why not do a epi about the closed factories in detroit and the history or whatnot, much like the TVR episode of top gear.

- Why after three seasons do we not have definitive ideas of each host favorite cars. UK we all know James likes (bentley/fiat panda/owns a ferrari 430)Jeremy like Mercedes/lambo and liked the fordgt til his was a lemon, and that Richard loves Porsches, American Muscle etc.

Hmmm maybe because Clarkson is a producer, along with some of the BBC TG producers. Its meant to be similar to UK TG because thats what made it so attractive in the first place, except we Americans are dumb so they had to cut the dry humor and dumb it down so people will understand things better.

I don't think any of you guys are aware of the amount of time it took to gain the current the camaraderie of UK TG...it didnt happen overnight, more like over a decade.

Quit bitching and just kick back and be glad that we have something more than the once in a while entertaining "how to" hot rod shows on Spike TV.

The original Top Gear would not be exciting enough and "dumbed-down" enough for most Americans, mainly ones who only have an average knowledge and interest in cars, british tv shows just have more thought put into them than most american tv shows, just look at all of their comedies, they arent always better, but the comedy has more thought put into it than american comedies, just look at South Park and Family Guy, which happen to be my favorite shows //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Although they fell in love with the GM trio after dogging them the whole way there are the first couple of hours in the cars.

Top Gear UK started off good. I have every season on DVD, They got better over the years but I dont think they ever had a bland episode

Well the viper did catch on fire. So they do have some right to dog US cars. But the trio turned out ok. Didnt the ZR1 fall apart once also? The first time it was on the show

I think the bumper fell off going around the test track. It did set a new production car mile record at the salt flats, though.
