Why does stock > aftermarket

cause stock speakers are design to handle some lows and highs. I stil like my stock speaker before i upgrade, the rear speaker's magnet is small but it can hit decent bass. I switch to speakers under 100$ range and none of them can hit bass like my stock one could.

magnet size doesn't have much to do with a speaker's performance

This is one of the most misguided posts I've ever read.

So only stock.. not aftermarket speakers are designed to hit lows and highs? The "lows" you're referring to are actually considered as part of the mid-range. Most speakers.. when set with a crossover correctly, are only designed to only get down to about 60 hz usually. "Lows" are covered by the subwoofer and can extend down efficiently into the low 20's depending on box tuning/driver ability. Also, a component set, consisting of a midrange and a tweeter will cover at least the same if not much more of a range than your stock speakers would.

Magnet size does not correlate with how much midbass a speaker has.

I can tell you for a fact that the RSD component set, which can be had for less than $100 will have much more midbass than your stock speakers if they are in a deadened door and properly mounted. And it's not just that component set, many other

There is a whole lotta jacked up eq-ing in most factory systems. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Which is why they can't be turned up (or they hit a ceiling and really the volume dial is an eq dial...)

deaden and seal your doors and amp your stock speakers. i had my doors deadened and sealed while i still had the stock speakers in my car. it turned them into beasts(for being stock)!
