why does my stock bose sub have 3 wires going to it? 04 dhs

I have a 04 devilled with the Bose system and I'm trying to connect my loc. Why is there 3 wires going into the stock Bose subwoofer? I've identified the + and - as the blue and green. Thanks in advance for any help.

hmm.. have you located the amp for the sub? what color is the other wire?

I've tried Googling it and I can't find anything about it. I've never seen anything like this.

chances are that those 3 wires go into the amp for your sub. the amp is probably inside the sub enclosure than 2 wires will go from the amp to the sub

Its a free air sub so there is no box. Its in my rear deck.

I know. Bose is ridiculous. I got the local hooked up but no sound is coming from my new subwoofer.

You're going to have to use your multimeter and find out exactly what each wire is/does. If you can't do that, you need to take it to a shop.
