Why do MOST (not all) Spl vehicles

hey now dont make fun of my 350 dollar van i bought to tear up with SPL.
get the hint on the reason why?
Hey, I put "most" in there so I will have an out. Not talking about you! But really, I was just amazed at the fact at NOPI. And getting ready for SBN I thought about it. I guess I'm "old" but we use to see people like Mark Fukuda, Tim Maynor, John Henry, Brantley Waites. They brought stuff to the lanes that was ready for show and sound. But to be fair, I bet the competition is tougher these days

my hint was people dont spend alot of money on thier spl vehicles because they are tearing them apart. usually spend as least as possible depending on the class. no reason to buy a nice vehicle when u are going to tear it apart for extreme,SS with concrete and what not. just need something that can hold together and pull the weight around the lanes.

after i redo my van to 4 18s and make it so i cant get it any louder im gonna just finish it to look good. if its possible to make a ford aerostar look good HAHA.

So that's how the record went up so much, those things I saw had to be 20 db's uglier than they used to be.
People don't care about how it looks as long as it's loud. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Though it seems like more and more people are starting to make their vehicles look better anyways.

The one thing that die hard SPL people are weary about is doing body/paint work on their SPL car.

Believe it or not, but doing body/paint work can adversely affect your SPL score.

more money into equipment than to make it look good. plain and simple. the sport is to be loud not look good. most dont join car shows with it so there is no point in making it look good. its pretty simple to understand that.

:QUOTE=Powers;4370553]Pioneer's cars generally look great for the numbers they put out.

I understand man, I know the point of a race is to go fast too, but you should see the cars in the race shops around here.

Believe it or not, most SPL guys arent sponsored and pay for all their own toys. Most of them are regular guys who hold 8-5 jobs and go home to their kids too. They cant afford to build a competitive SPL vehcile AND dump thousands in fiberglass and high solids clearcoat paint to make it look spectacular. And why should they? The termlab doesnt give a shit.

its funny to go to car show with nice rides with a bass off, and my escort people are like wtf?....lol.... and i still manage to beat alot of the cars the shops around here have done..... i like the people sayin oh look at that crap and all that.... then they change their minds when i burp it.... and im not even loud....lol.... but i find people are more impressed by lower notes then higher...
