Why CRX

I know this is a noobie question but why is the crx so loud compared to other hatch cars, is it the interior dynamics or what...i am asking this b/c i am thinking of getting one in the future and putting 2-3 18's in it...

it would be this or an eclipse... which one for performance, looks, sound(stereo response), ect.

Depends what frequency they scream. CRXs like 56-63 Hz last time I talked with someone about it. 18 year olds scream much higher.

you probably wont fit 3 18's in a crx without a wall and a ported box would probably be louder than a wall in a crx

i havent done anything in a crx, but i believe its because of the acoustics in the cabin of the car

most likely it has 3 resonant frequencies, all multiples of each other

Well other than the interior of the car, in comp, there is no back seat to this car, so to gain db's on a mic thats on the window, you can get you enclosure ll the way up to the door line. in turn getting your subs close to the mic. Just another way it gains

When god came down to put his touch on the LS1 he accidentally brushed against a CRX. This is where it got its gift from.

The main reason, as posted above, that CRX's are more known for SPL competition is the ability to build all the way up to the door jamb (b-pillar) and still be in the "street" classes.

Other cars with backseats have gotten pretty loud as well, some notables being a dodge neon doing a 154 with 2 12's and a few volkswagon golfs getting into the 154's with a pair of 10's.

^^^^ yes vw golfs are pretty loud also we ran a 148 with 1 12" and around 2.5kw
