Alright guys, so whenever i mess around with my subs i start smelling voice coil, which i know being able to smell it isent a bad thing ( its probobly a good thing ) but the point is... HOW can i smell the voice coil?
Basically i have my subwoofer in a SEALED box.. now when i think of SEALED BOX's, i think of someone being able to suffocate to death if put into one with a subwoofer installed, because its SEALED, aka air tight, nothing in, nothing out
So how can i smell my voice coil? the drivers in the back, meaning in the sealed portion of the chamber, so if its stinking, its stinking inside the box, and shouldent be able to exit.. and to even multiply this effect,, i have a TRUNK car, and a pretty good sealed one at that, which makes it even weirder that i can smell it.
If the coils stinking inside the box, it should be left there, because its a sealed, airtight box correct? ide imagine that the cone / surround area is also sealed, because all materials are in the way and theres no open spaces, so it shouldent be able to leak out there either
hows it happen?
