Why are my lights dimming?

I'm running only my amp for my speakers, 300W total. But my head lights and the lights in my car are still dimming... why?

I know a car is supposed to dim at high wattage, but only 300W? Is that normal?

My battery runs at a constant ~14V when my speakers are all the way up. I drive a honda civic 03 stock electrical system.

Honda civics have bad stock electrical system to begin with..they are being pushed to the limit right out the factory. Have owned two civics and had to upgrade alts on both of them. Check into the big 3 upgrade at the very least. Also, Honda generally also uses very puney stock ground wires.

As domllama said, easiest/cheapest solution would be to do the big 3 and go from there. Civic's do need work on electrical. When i got my hatch the lights would dim when i turned up my heat even. The big 3 did help but with what i run i needed a high output alty anways.

Yeah Hondas come out the gate with bad electrical. Do the big 3 upgrade,if that doesn't stop the dimming, upgrade your front battery
