Who's watching UFC tonight

I don't agree that shogun was the aggressor. i don't consider unsuccessful takedown attempts "aggression." IMO Machida initiated more combat (thus giving shogun the ability to counter).
I also do not believe amount of strikes landed should determine who wins a round. Different strikes have different levels of impact on a fight. A fighter could land 20 jabs and do less damage than 1 leg kick. This is the reason I think judges don't take too much stock in amount of strikes thrown by a given competitor.
and how many successful attempts did machida have... 0!.. how many did he even attempt for that matter... 0!!!

i agree 100% on the amount of strikes doesnt matter WHEN COMPARING IT TO.... more damaging strikes.. .but the fact of the matter is... Makita didnt have any of those damaging strikes, so your point of view on that is invalid in this fight... ALSO.. those let kicks werent like Forrest Griffins tiny little kicks.. those were all thrown at 90% strength, and all of them together through out the fight OBVIOUSLY did a lot of damage... you can't argue that

rematch in Jan prolly.. terrible fight

Velasquez was a monster, pity stoppage from mazzagatti.. Rothwel was being molested and ate 6 solid lefts against the cage.. on top of being slammed 27 times like he was a lightweight.. that fight was a testament to velasquez's strength, wrestling, and cardio

and what about Pat Barry on the undercard? won BOTH fight of the night an KO of the night.. pocketed a cool 120k in bonus money.. he is a very chrismatic personality.. i like watching him fight.. his accuracy and speed is amazing for a HW.. ground looked much improved as well.. i'd like to see him built up slowly, so he can learn the ground game

i would love to see cain v lesnar.. velasquez's grappling and punishment style is similar to GSP's.. i think Nog would sub him early in the 1st

for some reason i consider carwin's punching power > lesnar's punch power

you do realize Antonio Rogerio "Minotoro" Nogueiraand 'Minotauro' is Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
yes i know who he is and still I do not think Cain can beat either or. Every big time fighter he has fought has been a striker not a wrestler non the less one with a world class ground game. Lesnars ground and pound is pretty brutal as he doesn't need clean shots nor even full swings to do damage.

dude, thats such B.S. and you know it..
You either A, win the fight, or B. lose the fight..and Machida DEFINITELY did not win that fight.. he was exhausted, and glad that fight was over by the end because he was in a lot of visible pain... Mauricio could have gone another 2 rounds picking him apart with those leg kicks, and Machida would have dropped to the ground by the end of it. Mauricio showed no signs of fatigue, or being injured by the end of that fight

all you saying, " oh, you gotta beat the champ to be the champ" thats B.S. you either Win, or Lose, and Shogun DEFINITELY did not lose that fight

there's a f-in score card for a reason people!!... and in no category did Machida win majority of the rounds.. except for runnin away THE ENTIRE FIGHT!! (yes I know he's a counter punch kinda guy...be he was runnin)
bro you gotta beat the champ to win the belt, if its as close as that fight was the champ will get the decision everytime...if this wasnt a championship bout shogun woulda won hands down but thats not the case plain and simple.

I thought Shogun beat his *** and I would venture to say Machita will be in a wheel chair for a week.

Carwin is a real monster IMO.. brock.. idk.. i dont like the guy.. his quickness is good, he is powerful.. his wrestling is top notch.. but hes an *******, and undeserving champ, andnot technical and has used his size to his advantage (which is not a bad thing)

Read my first 2 posts when I clearly stated Shogun delivered more damage to Machida. I was just making the point that your ideas would not work in every fight. There is just no perfect way to score a decision bout because every person has their own opinion on winning/losing a round or fight.

Now if Shogun wanted to definitely secure a win, he should have WENT FOR THE FINISH! Neither fighter went for the finish and so whatever the decision is they can only blame themselves for. You want no doubt, you FINISH THE FIGHT. Shogun should've AT LEAST TRIED to finish the fight, even TRY AND FINISH EACH ROUND STRONG. He didn't so it's just as much his fault he lost as the judges.

if shogun won the decision i could see Anderson skipping his Belfort fight and wanting a title sht vs Shogun, and machida dropping to 185 or catchweight vs Wand or Franklin.. amazingly Machida won and blew my conspiracy up

what is "not technical." I hear that a lot, but does it really matter after you smash your opponent?

Carwin is JUST as decorated in his wrestling background. Will only be giving up around 20lbs. Is quick for his size. Decorated BJJ as well!

AND HE CAN STAND!

Brock can't. Everyone saw Randy stand and get the winning end of the deal against Lesnar.

Honestly, I think that either way.... Cain or Shane... will beat Brock.

Brock's standup is suspect, and it's going to show sooner than later.

not arguing, agreeing!
