Who wants to make some $$$ 4 SPL box design?

Like the title says, I'm looking for someone to design me a box. My max dimensions are 60" wide, 44" tall, and 20" deep. It is for an Atomic APX 18 and it is powered by a Hifonics Colossus II getting about 3300w rms (seeing as the XX line is rated at 12.5v iirc) at 2 ohms. It is going in a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado Ext. cab. I already had someone on ROE design me a daily driver box for it, and it worked out great. I prefer that the sub and port were firing up per recommendation by just about everyone, but if you think you're design will work better, go for it. I'm looking for originality and functions. The designer also must give valid reasons why he designed the box the way he did. All designs must be turned in by 12:00 midnight on Monday (6/11). Sorry for the short notice, but I need to have some time to complete the box before the 30th. Unfortunately, I don't know the RF of my vehicle so I know it will be hard, however keep in mind it doesn't have to be THE perfect SPL box for my car. Perfect would be designing the box around the vehicle and a shitload of testing and what not so yeah. I would also like the designer to take in the fact that I will be using 2 layers of 3/4" MDF, also that there aren't any professional leagues up here in AK, so tuning can be whatever, but I'd like to keep it under 65hz just because almost anyone can throw up high numbers at high frequencies. The best design will win the designer $60 via Paypal, so start working on some designs! Profundus-Sanus on ROE will verify that I am good for the money, so if you have any questions, shoot me a PM...

That's about 7.8 cubes tuned to about 47hz with 201inches^2 of port.

Let me know if you like it.

Roughly 8.1 cu. feet after displacement of .7 for woofer and the 45 degree pieces. Decided to tune to 55 hz as I did a little bit of research and on the majority most extended cab's resonant frequency is in the low to mid 60s so the box should peak around that (slightly higher than tuning).

WinISD shows the box peaking at 60.47 hz right near most extended cab's resonant frequency.

With the port, I was aiming for a 1:8 length to width ratio for SPL, however, box design just didn't allow it so, it is basically a 1:6 ratio. (1:5.8 to be exact) Chose this because some people still want their boxes to look decent and that puts it centered on the box.

The Atomic's T/S ratings were actually kinda hard to find and weren't posted on the website so I had to do a little research on that as well.

If anymore explanation is needed, feel free to ask.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif, Immacomputer FTW. I love it man, You're def. in the running bro. If everyone else here has a design like this, their will be some serious competition...

EDIT: Oh shit, I forgot. Immacomputer, it's only 16 and something inches tall, I'm running an 18 mane.

Dude, that is ****ing sick. Let me just clear everything up though, cuz I was kinda sloppy in the details

It has to fit in between there with the seats moved forward, like I said, sub facing up. Unless you think it wouldn't **** with the sound having the sub right in front of the center console (which I'm pretty sure it would) then I think we might have to scrap that design //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif sorry bout that, I'm sure you put hella time into it...

The cutout is for 16.75" which is the cutout for the BTL and I'm pretty sure the APX uses the same basket. Don't forget about the extra 3" that are added with 1.5" of MDF on both sides. The 16.75" is excluding the top and bottom panels (or in your application, the front and back).

See...when people say SPL. Do they really mean SPL.

Cause I can design you one hell of a "one note wonder" box that would do great numbers on the TL. I could also do something that is really loud daily...

Also Designing an SPL box without prior testing is like shooting in the dark. Tune it wrong and it will **** ***. Your best bet would t be to use aero ports...that way you can chop/Add as you need to.

I agree, but like mentioned above, I'm not looking for THE optimal tuning, because that can only be done with hours of testing, building, etc. However, the resonant frequency is listed above, so using that as a guide, it is possible (I think) to design a really loud SPL-oriented box. Go ahead and throw something out there if you like...

the measurements I gave you are right, but I just listed them the wrong way. What I meant was the distance betweent the center console and the folded up rear seat (as shown, kinda, but the pic got cut off) is 20". From door to door, it is 60", and from the transmission hump to the top of the folded up seat, is about 44". I'm really sorry for not making this clear in the first place.

That should fit. Still tuned to 55 hz. Still peaking at 60.47. Still is about 8.1 cu. feet after displacement for the driver and the 45 degree pieces in there.

If any other modifications are needed, lemme know.

EDIT: Forgot to put measurement on depth of port, it should be 14 1/2"
