i say it jokingly but seriously, i can control my bass level with my window and not like a little bit, passenger window all the way up, bass is short and punchy not alot of output, and as i roll the window down, the bass slowly gets fuller and louder, i never have to touch the bass eq for different songs, just roll the window up a little bit or down a little bit. i know a slight difference is normal... but is THAT much really normal?

nope passenger speaker sounds the same up or down, but the sub control is incredible, from all the way up to all the way down is a HUGE diference and like i said i can literally change the sound of the bass with an inch or 2 of the window in either direction.

pressure is lost in the cabin...also this doesnt make your passenger speaker sound different also?
pressure isnt lost..... if u open ur whole passenger door ull be like:D all of my systems are louder and better sounding wit the windows cracked or down. mainly cuz i plan um like that.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

well im fairly "decent" at building boxes and designing systems, its a standard cab truck, sub passenger side, port drivers side.

eh. u gain a ton in std cabs with the doors open thats why your change is so drastic.
gotcha! well at least its normal, i wasn't sure if i messed up somewhere along the way, my mustang and my prelude got "a little" louder with the windows down but nothing this drastic.

I know someone who did a test on one of the forums and actually showed that he gained a couple of decibels with the window down or the door open.... The theory behind the gain was that standing waves could escape from the cabin thus resulting in less possibility of sub-bass frequency cancellation. I don't know if that works in the real world, but I have noticed with some of my cars in the past that the bass would seem deeper if I rolled down the windows, versus leaving them up.

Yeah when I roll the windows down the bass "flows" more but with the windows up I get less bass and more ish rattling //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
