In competitions, you can take the judges comments for what they're worth. Some judges don't know jack. Some do. If you do not experience the problems they point out then it doesn't matter. But on the other hand, a respected judge can point out something you have never noticed, and it'll just pop out at you like it never did before and just begs to be fixed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gifI agree 100% with your definition as that's what I strive for, but how is that judged by others when competing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
That's my HT sub as it was being built - 2x18" Dayton pro drivers, ~46ft3 in a MLTL alignment, +100dB sensitivity driven by a bridged Samson S1500. The sub can literally take the garage door off its hinges. Here's the difference between this and a SPL setup. The sub is used to augment the effects in movies; movies aren't used as a means of driving the sub. Not unlike using music as a way of making the system get loud vs. using a loud system to play music. It's a matter of of orientation. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifApparently you don't frequent any HT forums as there are PLENTY of guys putting together systems that output insane amounts of LFE in the home //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif
My modest system consists of 2 15" RL-P's each in 10cubes @ 18hz and I demo scenes in the 12-14Hz range and my house literally gets beaten to death. Just the way I like it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
That is why I like SQ... I build the system to what I like and dont need a meter to tell me shit. A good sounding system will sound good to most people also. I mean that is the beauty of it. You can have 20 different cars and they all sound different. Not just loud loud bass. Iam not downing SPL as I do enjoy it but I really love the versatility of SQsq sucks cuz its 96% opionion....
a lot of people say that when they sound like crap.sq sucks cuz its 96% opionion....
I feel for sq judges... they got a rough job... and then people have a right to argue because in the end its all opinion... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gifThat is why I like SQ... concider i am running all rainbow, zapco, and a center seat vehicle... with a ID sealed sub... i guess your right...a lot of people say that when they sound like crap.
well then thats what happens when you compete....I feel for sq judges... they got a rough job... and then people have a right to argue because in the end its all opinion... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
Not really. When one is used to a certain level of reproduction and knows a series of recording intimately, it's easy to tell whether a system sounds transparent, whether its able to extract the detail in the recording, whether is spacial resolution is lacking and so on. The degree of success can be argued, but car audio has such a long way to go in this respect that it's essentially a moot point.sq sucks cuz its 96% opionion....
i dig it!well then thats what happens when you compete....
Being into SQ doesnt mean you must compete. I do what I need to for myself and not for trophies and points
there is definitly a math to it... in the end... what sounds good at comps doesnt really sound good for daily... my opinion..Not really. That's good for you. I hate when people judge/listen with their eyes... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifconcider i am running all rainbow, zapco, and a center seat vehicle... with a ID sealed sub... i guess your right...
A well tuned system should reproduce any music well. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifthere is definitly a math to it... in the end... what sounds good at comps doesnt really sound good for daily... my opinion..
