West Point is particularly noted for this.

One other area I can recall is the FBI.

Most normal educated people can enter at a GS-3 level or GS-4 if they are really exceptional. If you are an Eagle Scout on top of that, you enter at GS-7 to GS-9 level.

its true... a lot of people dont know how freakin tough and the amount of work and detication it takes for becomin an EAgle.

No kidding. Tough doesn't even quite cover it.

I'd wager that a majority of those on this board would not be able to do it.

The Eagle is an "Elite" award in the most strict sense.

I recieved my Eagle roughly 8 years ago.

It's pulled favor at every place I've worked at (hiring, promotions, salary, etc.) as well as earned me respect from government officials, CEO's, company executives, etc.

Obviously, a large part of America does realize what it takes to recieve the Eagle.

It'll do great things for you man. Count on it.

I remember a long azz time ago I was in Boy Scouts in like 2nd or 3rd grade, it was cool and served its purpose, I just chose not to pursue it, my Uncle though, made Eagle Scout in his adolescent years and swears it was a huge accomplishment in his past

yes it truly is elite. only 2% of the population has made it to eagle!!

yes, I too was an eagle scout. Congrats on your achievement by the way. It is alot of work but you do see alot of benefits down the road. I have gotten like 3 eagle palms too. But about 1 year after getting my eagle i kind quite scouts because it got old after awhile and their was no motivation to continue after you reach the top.

Also are you in the order of the arrow at all?

I was in boyscouts but quit after weblos, all the older people were ninnies and treated us like they were baby sitting us, I felt I could actually achieve more on my own. Then I screwed my life up royal... oops...

The Scouts kinda frown upon homosexuality among other things.

Last I recall, they did not admit those who chose that lifestyle.

I was selected, however, declined membership to the OA.

It appeared to me that in my area it was only a matter of image rather than purpose.
