Who here hates USPS????????

Here's one back at ya. Someone shipped an empty box (had some packing material in it) to me via USPS that took 7 days to arrive with a cost of $30.
I put a motherboard, CPU, heatsink and vid card in it and shipped it back via UPS. It costed me $25 FULL and got back to him in 5 days.

USPS has apaprently started charging on a volume scale instead of just weight. GHEY
Perhaps it has something to do with the origin of the package as well?

And the folks at the USPS branch a block from me are pretty awesome in their own right. They stress CS real heavily.

Nothing I've ever sent out, whether because of here or through eBay, using them ever took longer than 4 days to reach its destination and none of the packaging was ever mangled. So - til they give me reason not to I'll continue using them since they've taken good care of me thus far.

Sorry to hear your experience with them wasn't as stellar.

Priority mail is usually 2x the cost of fedex and takes 2x as long //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Care to wager on that Mr. Hicks ? My job involves doing year long surveys of all commercial carrier services for a rather large company. USPS priority mail delivers within the advertised 7 days 99.3% of the time. 82.13% of the time USPS priority mail delivers earlier. Try dhl for shipping if you want to see something slow //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Always have and always will charge on volume ( they refer to it as balloon rating) . //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

"Balloon Rate"

Items that weigh less than 20 pounds but measure more than 84 inches in combined length and distance around the thickest part must pay the 20-pound Parcel Post® zoned rate.

I do this chit for a living //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've never used them. The guy shipping me an empty box was the one that used them. I use UPS, but for one reason: They are closer to my house than USPS. I could care less about the cost of a package. My time is worth more, regardless. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
When was the last time you used USPS? I think the volume thing is new.
As stated in my previous post, on the 25th, five days ago.

I heard that UPS is owned by satan, and specifially tells handlers to drop expensive looking boxes.

At least thats what my managers at Fed Ex tell us.

DHL ships slow? I shipped my busted iPad to them in CA and a refurb one was back the next day for me.

personal experience > surveys

I shipped a mm4000.1 overnight to a competitor in ohio. He recieved it 2 weeks later. I was refunded my 150 dollars shipping, but still had to go through the 20 pages of paperwork to get it

And you should have just called me Chad . I got lots of interesting access to people and systems regular people don't have with UPS, and USPS. Amazing what spending 4billion dollars a year with these companies will get you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
