As long as you can meter on both sides of the car within 1 db of each side then i am ok with them. But that typically isn't what i see
Idiot... way to throw that around. How many of your own boxes do you design that take world records......your an idiot plain and simple lol cheater ports lol
MECA has always had "non-daily" vehicles or setups that won. However, MECA is definitely the most friendly to lower tuned, more daily type of installs. Headrest metering has leveled the playing field for that. A guy that can possibly get 2nd-3rd in MECA will be lucky to be in the top 10 in any db drag class. The issue I have is not persay with areo ports. More so with them in meca. Meca is meant as a daily driving league or use to be. If you gain more than a 1 db or so on one side of the car i personally don't consider that a normal daily driving system. it is just my opinion. Unless there is somethign I don't understand about aero ports. But from what I have been told it creates hottspots in the cars. That isn't true daily driving. as far as drags go. great. db drag is about maxium spl. meca was suppose to be about daily drivers that got loud. when you start to optimize your setup to spike the meter in a hot spot it isn't designed for daily anymore. it is designed for the hotspot. You have to understand again i am not against the use of them. just dont' like them in meca. Meca's bread and butter was the average joe. Now nobody wants to go because they have to go against a guy spiking an outragious number with a areo port

Funny you mention that lol. I have been talking about for a year it would be awesome if bass race topped out 50 to 53hz range... And I dislike one note wonders as well.... And I hate them in meca because that for sure is the opposite of what the league was designed forA port is a port.
I agree about daily systems needing a place to compete, and being at a disadvantage when all the classes are flooded with 1 note wonders.
That is why I love Bass Race and Street Beat, it really evens up the playing field for the competitors that actually listen to their systems.
I think the key to daily drivers competing in any org is to put a cap on the frequency that is being metered. I think 50hz would be a nice reference point for most daily systems, anything above 50hz sounds pretty nasty and would eliminate CRX and Panda dominations in the supposed "street classes". A format similiar to this would bring alot of people back to the sport that have lost interest due to the burp builds.

Man I see what you are saying. But I think that has a lot to do with the massive amount of rules they have implemented through time. I know it sounds kinda odd suggesting another rule. But like for example. In mod /modex you can not add something to make the dashboard stronger (which cracking dashboards can be an issue). Now I know his concerns. But since meca is reality spl only now. Adding a sound deadener to the dash wouldn't affect the spl at all.I don't think bassrace needs a frequency cap.
Bassrace is more about control than how loud you are.
However, streetbeat and other "daily driver" oriented org's could probably benefit from a frequency cap. I peak at 43 hz so I really won't have a problem there. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
MECA made quite a few rule changes to go to a more daily driver oriented format, but that only pushed competitors away. 26" rule in CRX's and the all headrest format come into mind, but the same guys who won before the rule changes are the same ones winning now.
All MECA could do now is basically ban certain cars and ban test tones, which will just end up pushing more people away.
