Offended... oh that's right..... you prob use aero ports due to your lack of design knowledge... I do realize that the point is to hit the highest score, but meca is suppose to be a daily driving league. Why don't you take your butt to drags if you wanna use cheater ports that have nothing to do with daily driving league. I understand you probably can even play music. But last time I checked areo ports direct sound pretty well . Doesn't take a lot of design. Small box, aero port, termlab and almost any idiot can get loud. I get sick of it

MUCH less displacement, allowing for considerably smaller boxes, which overall is what daily driving comes down to in a sense. Smaller the box, the less weight and space is taken up, not to mention is much more efficient in the car overall.

People are using small enclosures and aeroports because its whats the loudest in their vehicle.

Seems like you are getting mad because its not working the same for you.

Also I've used aeros a bunch of times for daily driving, cuts down on time when building and is a lot easier to tune with aeros.

You say it doesn't take a lot of designing and testing? What are you, retarded? Plenty of people use aeroports in daily drivers now anyways. Much easier to build for and you can test and tune the enclosure to your liking. Why don't you talk to the TNT dynamite sounds guys, they build more boxes and test more than anyone else I know. Their shop's attic is FILLED with different enclosures.

While we're on the subject, why don't you head over to the db drag forums and tell them that they don't know what they are doing either?

I really have no idea why you call them cheater ports or think it's easy to put up huge numbers with them. I built 5 boxes in the 2 days before MECA finals just to try different layouts and box sizes. Hell, I threw away 3 boxes in the past week that just weren't up to par. I see you have respect for myself and potts (not sure why), but yet you hate people that use aeroports?

You say it's as simple as building a small box and slapping a port on it? What about different box sizes? What about different DIMENSIONS? Port lengths? Port size? What about work INSIDE the box? All of these things can make a HUGE impact on the score. Hell, by cutting my ports 2" shorter I lost almost 2 dB!

Using aeros is no easier than using a slot port, it just lets you fine tune everything which is what competition is about isn't it?

There is no "spiking" of the meter by using aeroports. Airflow is airflow, plain and simple. Aeroports are more efficient and cause less turbulence then a slot port. There's no reason NOT to use them.

I can make a slot port direct sound just as well as an aeroport, aeroports just allow me to change tuning and whatnot on the fly instead of having to build a bagillion different boxes just because I want the slot port to be 1" shorter.

And before you say "lets just drop it", you brought this on yourself with those stupid *** comments. If you can't take the heat....you shouldn't be a dumbass.

ur a tard. i compete in meca and get loud at 37hz. i play music amazing. my fiends setup uses a "cheater" port and peaks around 39hz and plays into the low low 30's.

In my class, i did play music. And was metered at the headrest? That is the definition of a groundpounder........Oh and on 40 amps of fuse all day.
